“What does it mean 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 a man?”

Over the last couple of years Blue has been observationally curious about the complexities of masculinity, and simultaneously, exploring the question of “What does it mean 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 a man?”

“My work often considers Black womanhood and girlhood, two things that have been quite transformative in my personal journey to understanding and aligning with my own femininity. This question I’m asking has felt like a concept to be refreshingly separate from, but continuously curious about.

Admittedly, I felt so far from understanding something I often live so close with, that I began capturing random displays of expression, engagement, conflict, empathy, protection, pastime activity, stillness, and so forth between men.” These are the visual documentations of her notes; she hopes to eventually communicate through fashion.
